Biography

Peg Phenicie painted for many years in the late 60s and early 70s until life got in the way. She is a US Navy Veteran and worked until retirement in the medical field and as a Mechanical Designer. She studied at the University of Connecticut where she took art courses along with Pre Med/Pre Vet Med courses and earned her BS. She later went back to school and got her engineering degree.

About 2 years before she retired as a designer, she returned to her joy of painting in Oils. Now retired, she is showing her artwork at local and Howard Allen Shows. When I was little, my grandmother would take me for long walks in the forests and fields of Connecticut. We would stop to look at every leaf, flower and insect along the way. She taught me of the beauty of life and everything that God has given us. That is where I learned to appreciate the beauty of everything around me.

Through many years of dealing with the effects of war, pain and death, I lost my desire and some of that talent to paint. After having two amazing children and three wonderful grandchildren I have the desire once again to show that beauty of life in paintings and to create something in which my children and others can find their own happiness.” The memories of our past are what makes us who we are. I like to pass those memories on.
