Melbourne Chamber Music Society: Modigliani String Quartet Concert

The Paris based Modigliani Quartet, founded in 2003, is a regular guest of the world’s top venues and finest string quartet and chamber music series. It consists of Amaury Coeytaux and Loic Rio, violins, Laurent Marfaing, viola, and Francois Kieffer, cello. The Quartet regularly  performs at major venues in Europe, Asia, and North America. The Quartet records for the Mirare Label and has released 10 award-winning CDs since 2008. In 2021 the Modigliani Quartet recorded all of Schubert’s String Quartets; the release date is scheduled for January, 2022.

Through the support of generous sponsors, the Modigliani Quartet has the privilege of playing four magnificent Italiqn instruments. Amaury Coeytaux plays a 1773 violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Loïc Rio plays a 1780 violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Laurent Marfaing plays a 1660 viola by Luigi Mariani, and François Kieffer plays a 1706 cello by Matteo Goffriller.
