Art Class for Homeschoolers
| The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting a 5 week “Art Class for Homeschoolers” taught by Glaucia Romano. The class meets on Mondays from 10 to 11:15 am beginning on November 7, 2022.
This class offers an art program attuned to the Florida Standards for students K-12 interested in an art elective. With a limit of 10 students, the class allows for a student-centered approach with individual attention. Children will explore a variety of media including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles, clay, and print-making. Additionally, they will learn art vocabulary and state standards including the elements of art and principles of design, famous artists, art history, contemporary arts, art careers, and more. Glaucia is a Florida Certified Art Educator and has been teaching art at public schools for the past 10 years. She has taught Elementary and Middle School students. She left public school education for many of the same reason you may have decided to home school your child.. She has worked with students with Autism, other exceptionalities and disabilities, as well as English Language Learners. Students’ work and progress will be evaluated to satisfy any requirements by the state. Parents may decide whether or not to have their child’s work graded. Fee for the 5 sessions is $75 plus a $10 supply fee. Students should bring a an 8×11 or 9×12 spiral-bound unlined sketchbook . Questions? The class meets on November 7, 14, and 28 ad December 5 and 12 at the Studios’ classroom behind their gallery at 159 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm and Sundays 10 am to 3 pm.
