Biography
Kathryn Leonhardt is a portrait artist, specializing in dogs, cats and kids. As a graduate of the University of Maryland, she initially worked as a graphic artist/designer before starting her own graphics company – KLG. After 18 years of providing high quality logos, direct advertising and corporate image to such companies as IBM, ReMax, Long & Foster and the IRS, she retired to Indialantic, Florida and began to do what she loved best – fine art. Specializing in pastel portraiture, she has done work in oils, acrylics, charcoal/pencil and copper.
Ms. Leonhardt’s love of animals brought her focus to canine portraiture. As an AKC judge and an AKC Breeder of Merit, she studied canine structure, type and movement for over 25 years. This was invaluable in her ability to realistically portray the canine companions she is commissioned to create. Additionally, Ms. Leonhardt can produce child or feline art.
