Biography

Travel and photography have been two lifelong passions. In traveling the world for more than forty years, Alice, my wife and companion of over forty years, and my camera are always with me; one on either side.

To escape the frigid winters of my Wisconsin home, I moved to the Caribbean in 1961 to enjoy the southern sun during the early 1960s and 1970s and developed an initial interest in “picture taking”. Then while calling Southern California home for thirty years, I participated in a number of college photography courses and various other photo programs. Because of other primary obligations, I used photography merely as an escape at that time. After moving to Florida in 2005, with time on my hands, I started to pursue the art more seriously.

For years I felt the only true art form was the image as seen through the camera lens and captured on film. I then joined the 21st century and entered the world of digital imaging. It offers countless creative opportunities that allow greater freedom of expression limited only by the photo artist’s imagination and ability. My work runs an eclectic range from travel, landscape, still life, to what I call “buildings and bodies” and just about everything in between, whatever catches my eye. The results run a gamut from “straight photos” to those slightly “tweaked in exposure and sharpness to a collection of images transformed according to my “whim” utilizing digital enhancements combined with fine art effects.
