Biography
I was very fortunate to grow up in a household where my parents were collectors & supporters of art! As a child I remember staring at some of the paintings in our house and being amazed how a blob of paint up close would be a beautiful tree when you viewed it further away! With a crayon always in hand, I would draw & color on about anything. At age 10 my parents signed my sister & I up for art classes where I completed my first oil painting!
My love for art & working with kids lead me to a career teaching art in Detroit & Southfield, Michigan and finishing my teaching journey at Palm Bay Magnet High School. Now a retired Art Educator I am enjoying having more time to return to the joy I find in creating Art!
Inspired by a lifetime spent along the East Coast, from NY & NJ to Massachusetts, Michigan and now Florida, my work reflects my connection to the ocean, the beaches & coastal wildlife. Oil paint is my preferred medium when painting seascapes, sunrise/sunsets, mermaids, kids enjoying the beach & life by the sea.
