Biography
Judith Mammay is a retired teacher from New England who moved to Florida after retirement in 2002. Judy started painting at the age of 80 after taking her granddaughter to an art lesson, where she ended up painting herself and liking it. Judy is a member of the Central Brevard Art Association and has been learning and improving her skills through classes, experimentation, and practice for the last few years. She exhibits in some of our public libraries through BCAA's Art in Public Places program and participates in their art shows.
Judy currently works mostly with acrylics and likes to take her own pictures to use as reference photos. She enjoys painting sunsets and nature paintings where she can use bright colors. Judy has also started learning more about abstract painting and is experimenting with that.
Judy enjoys sharing her experiences with art with others. She believes it is never too late to try something new or to learn a new skill. She uses her age and her interest in the arts and positive aging to encourage others of all ages to experiment in painting or some other form of art both for enjoyment and to move forward through life healthily, Judy has also adopted the theme ART with HEART as her motto and donates a high percentage of all sales to local charities.
