Biography
I am a retired teacher from New England who started painting at the age of 80 after taking my granddaughter to an art lesson where the art teacher told me I could not watch and handed me a paintbrush and canvas. My painting turned out OK, and I enjoyed doing it so I continued and have been perfecting my art ever since for the last few years. I did not know that I had any sort of art ability. Now, when people say they have no talent or they're too old to start, I tell them we're never too old, and ask how how they know they have no talent if they haven't tried it.
I currently work mostly with acrylics and have done some watercolor. I enjoy painting sunsets and scenic paintings and using bright colors. I am also interested in learning more about abstract painting and am trying some of that.
As a hobby, I also enjoy photography. I have been taking pictures most of my life and am currently working on taking pictures of nature as reference photos for my paintings.
