Description

Tropical themes, illustration and fantasy are the subjects most painted in the studio of the artist, Jaymee Weinreich. Growing up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Weinreich earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida then moved to Eastern Puerto Rico where she started a teaching career. Living in the rainforest mountains overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding islands inspired Jaymee to continue the practice of art and she decided to follow her dreams and pursue a career as a professional artist through opportunities with private and commercial clients. Murals, custom signs, and commercial designs were some of the art products created in the island studio.

In addition to working for private and commercial clients, some of her artistic successes include co-founder of the East End Art Guild of Puerto Rico, founded in 1999. She also wrote about artists in her own art column in a Brevard County Hispanic newspaper. In 2006, she began selling art to visitors in El Yunque National Forest, a project that lasted for eight years. During that time she opened Maji Lina Gallery & Art Center, located at the foot of El Yunque National Forest. Finally, in 2016 after returning to Cocoa Beach, she became involved with a group of artists and helped open the Studios of Cocoa Beach, a non-profit gallery for artists. At the present time, Weinreich organizes exhibitions and processes the new artists for the Studios. She teaches classes in drawing and painting and continues exploration through her art.

“This profession is full of unknowns and the best part is you never know what or where the inspiration for your next project will manifest. Art is a life long passion and the beauty is that there is always more to learn and subjects to explore. Art is the expression of embracing life in its fullest.”
