Description

I grew up in Pennsylvania and started painting cars at 16. I moved to Florida in 1986 as an auto body technician and painter, and later moved up to managing shops. In 2000 I became an insurance adjuster and retired from that 15 years later. During my years as an insurance adjuster, I started play around with wood. After a few years I did my first art show in Orlando, selling my handmade jewelry boxes, turned bowls and other small wood items. My wood shop used to get so hot in the summer, it forced me to find an indoor hobby, which is when I started watching Jerry Yarnell and learning to paint and never looked back.

Over the past several years I have owned “Island Art Gallery” in Merritt Square Mall and on the Cocoa Beach Pier. After closing the Pier location, I traveled to Teas doing outdoor art shows for 7 months before retuning to Merritt Island, just before Covid, we opened “The Gallery arts & events Center” which was closed soon after opening. This got me to try something new which was a handyman business since I have always been handy.

For the past 3 years I have done repairs and still creating art for the Brevard Area. I love being able to do both. The handyman business keeps me very busy, but I still make time to create unique art pieces from furniture to hanging wood art with landscape paintings. Recently I did my first art show in a long time. I hope to do more shows in the future. I love creating new and unique pieces.
