Description
Most of my life I have been an ardent, appreciative viewer of art. As a child, I took a few drawing lessons from a noted Florida artist, B. Bacchus and later an oil painting class as a young Navy wife. Then life took over with frequent moves and 3 young children. It wasn’t until we had retired, moved to Florida, and I had gotten a degree and license in counseling that I yearned to follow a lifelong dream and pick up a paintbrush again. Workshops, experimentation and critiques from fellow artists have been my teachers.
Most of my paintings are done from my own photographs – fun, funky, or classic. God provides numerous subjects for this artist. Currently, we are living in a time where there is uncertainty, difficulty, and sorrow all around us. Still, we can choose to look for the love, kindness and beauty that is also present. I long to focus on the latter and, as an artist, bring the viewer into a world that will comfort, sooth and lift our spirit.
