Description

I was born in Chicago, IL, and am the youngest of three girls. My dad was an artist and taught us how to draw when we were in elementary school. I attended Barry University in Miami Florida as an art major in the 60’s. I enjoyed my ceramics and printmaking classes especially an etching class I took at the U. of Miami one summer. I remained in FL, taught school and was married in Ft. Lauderdale in 1973 and continued teaching as my career…I’ve taught in private, parochial and public school systems as an elementary classroom and special area art teacher and at Rollins College. I ran a summer art school with a friend for over 11 years.

Over the years I taught all ages from PK – college and beyond. While our four children were little I worked in a combination of pastels and colored pencil. Now in my “second” retirement I am getting back into drawing and painting. While I love ceramics I continuing to draw and keep sketch books, I’ve turned to painting in acrylics and oils a medium my dad introduced to us at a young age. Presently I belong to and work on projects with the Central Brevard Art Association in Rockledge.
