Biography

Jeanne is an artist with a degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL and an Honorary Degree from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. She is the author of the published book, Losing Todd: A Mother’s Journey, and illustrator to a published children’s book, Animals That Come From All Around Our Wonderful World.

After her son, Army 1LT Todd William Weaver was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan on September 9, 2010, Jeanne turned to her God given talent to help navigate her new state of being. In one year’s time, she created twenty-one oil paintings in memory of Todd. In 2015, the book named above was published picturing the paintings in full color. The book includes essays from many people from different professions and Jeanne’s testimony on how she journeyed through her loss and at the end found peace. She has been invited to speak to many groups of people about the loss of her son and the grief process. The series of paintings has been exhibited at many venues on the east coast from Washington D.C. to most recently the Florida State Capitol Building while legislature was in session (April, 2023).

Jeanne paints all subject matter in oil on commission and is an Iconographer working in egg tempera. She shares her knowledge of iconography at St. David’s by the Sea to members and non member of the church. She has designed 4 monuments in Brevard County. Three of those monuments are located at the Veterans Memorial Center and Plaza on Merritt Island: Monument to Those Who Served in Iraq; Monument to Those Who Served in Afghanistan and Four Chaplains and All Chaplains Monument. The fourth is a Monument To The fallen and is located at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Scottsmoore. She is a board member of the National Art Association, ECVA (Episcopal Church Visual Arts); Resident Artist at St. David’s by the Sea Episcopal Church in Cocoa Beach; and a member of the local Brevard Cultural Alliance.
