THRESHOLDS
Architectural Fragments and Transitional Spaces
Thresholds explore architecture through fragments rather than complete structures. Each painting isolates a portion of a building, inviting viewers to move beyond recognition and engage with space, memory, and perception.
ARTIST STATEMENT
As an architect and painter, I am drawn to the spaces that connect one place to another—doorways, passages, facades, and architectural fragments that often go unnoticed. In my paintings, I focus on selected portions of buildings rather than complete structures. By isolating these elements from their original context, I explore how architecture can move beyond function and become a visual experience shaped by memory, perception, color, and form.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, I use fragmentation as a way of inviting viewers to complete the whole through their own imagination and experience. Through these architectural thresholds, I
seek to create moments of reflection, transition, and discovery.
