Portrait Drawing with Jaymee Weinreich

The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting “Portrait Drawing with Jaymee Weinreich” for four consecutive weeks beginning on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. No matter what media in art you do, the skills learned in drawing are essential in all media and should be a lifelong practice. Learning to draw the subtleties of the human being enables the artist to improve their drawing skills for other subjects.

Line, value, shading, proportion, and perspective are practiced in the study of the portrait. Starting with the head full on, profile and the ¾” view, practice will also include details of the face and hair. With over forty years of experience in art, I will guide you step by step. From concept, to implementation, to finish… can only happen when you begin.

The instructor, Jaymee Weinreich works in a number of mediums including oil and acrylic and makes jewelry in various media including enamel, micro macramé and wire wrapping. As an art instructor, she teaches drawing and painting and welcomes commissions for painting parties. After receiving a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Florida International University in Miami, she then spent twenty-eight years in the Caribbean as a professional artist. Her work includes, people, animals, rainforest and island environments, illustration and fantasy.
Fee for the class is $165. A model’s fee will be charged for one or two sessions. Register at the Studios’ website : www.studiosofcocoabeach.org . The Studios is located at 165 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. The gallery is open Monday 9 am to 2 pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 1 pm to 6 pm.
