J.T’s Bluegrass Opener: Carson Peters & Iron Mountain

Young Carson Petersis a veteran bluegrass musician. At age eight, he was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. At 10, he made his Grand Ole Opry debut alongside country/bluegrass superstar, Ricky Skaggs. Carson was all of 17 when he competed on The Voice, coached by Blake Shelton. And on Thursday, September 4, the now 20-year-old Carson Peters and his band, Iron Mountain will roll into Titusville to kick off the 2025-26 bluegrass season for J.T.’s Bluegrass. Carson’s fivemember group will perform a single show of high-energy bluegrass music during the 7:00 PM concert at Shepherd’s Hall, 2073 Garden Street in Titusville, 32780. A fiddler since age three, Carson heads the band with Austin Tate on mandolin, James McDowell on banjo, Taylor Parks on bass and Ethan Ratliff on guitar. The music of Carson Peters & Iron Mountain features lush instrumentals and fresh-yet-traditional harmonies. Fans are certain to hear chart hits, “Gotta Lotta Lonesome,” “How Blue” (a Reba McIntyre hit), and “Used to Be,” the title cut from the group’s second album release under the Billy Blue label. Two previous albums feature bluegrass cover standards and gospel favorites. J.T’s Bluegrass has six remaining bands lined up for the 2025-26 season, including the couple considered bluegrass royalty, Darin and Brooke Aldridge. J.T. Shealy has been bringing family-friendly top acts from the bluegrass world to Brevard County since 2007.
