Imaginary Landscapes in Encaustic and Multi Media
Join us for a relaxing and creative Kinusaiga workshop at MyMakerScape.
Kinusaiga is a Japanese inspired fabric art technique where colorful fabrics are tucked into foam to create beautiful textured artwork. No sewing is required.
AUGUST 18 | From 2:00PM to 5:00PM
In this all levels workshop, Students create their own encaustic medium by combining beeswax, damar resin and pigment, as well as learning how to use the application equipment. We will then go over the fundamentals of encaustic painting such as layering, fusing, inlays, creating texture and adding various surface effects. At the end of the workshop students will have a completed paintings that demonstrate and incorporate all of the techniques they’ve learned. Art boards, encaustic medium and other materials will all be provided.
Hazel Griffiths is a multidisciplinary artist originally from England, with a primary focus on encaustic painting. Using wax and mixed media, she builds textured, organic surfaces that become atmospheric landscapes.
