Strategic Priorities & Mission
BCA’s Art in Public Places Program displays 650+ pieces in dozens of high-traffic locations across the county. These pieces are viewed by an estimated 400,000 people per year.
BCA leads projects that build cultural tourism in cities like Titusville and Palm Bay to develop cultural initiatives that are sustainable and replicable.
BCA provides advocacy, resources, technical assistance and promotion for approximately 70 countywide BCA member organizations to help learn how to better promote themselves to local, statewide and nationwide audiences.
BCA commissions economic impact studies that support the sector through dissemination of critical data – such as: (1) the local arts and cultural sector contributes more than $125 million in sales to the community and (2) the sector adds $71.3 million to the local GDP (*from 2015 study).
BCA advocates at the state and local levels, helping to leverage more than $1 million in grants from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs to Brevard cultural organizations.
BCA has earned national validation via funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and local corporations like Harris Foundation and The Boeing Company.
More than 6,000 Brevard County students and families are directly served with arts instruction through BCA programs.
BCA provides arts education experiences in nearly 30 Brevard County schools.
BCA delivers artist residencies serving at-risk youth in sites such as the Melbourne Center for Personal Growth and Brevard Group Treatment Home.
~Brevard Cultural Alliance is designated as the County’s local arts agency by the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.~
