Biography

Jim, a Florida local for 15 years has always had some form of creative outlet beginning with drawing and painting at a young age. Later as a young adult his creative talents turned to furniture making and wood carving for many years. He transitioned back to painting some years ago as age and Florida humidity dictated less demanding physical activity for creative channeling. His painting skills developed through; Worcester Art Museum, Ma., the Foosenar Art Museum , Fl., understudy of Fritz Van Eeden, Sandy Johnson, Betsy Bohmer and Laura Kucharyson.

Influenced by Kevin McPherson's and Richard Schmidt's techniques, his unique style expresses the passage of color and light, shades and shadows through the paintings using brush and knife.

Current works involve landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, and classic street scenes. Works are successfully displayed in Melbourne Cafes and Restaurants. Commissions accepted.
