Dawn Currie is a photographic artist now living in Indian Harbour Beach Florida. Originally from the Rochester, New York area, her love of photography began at an early age exploring a broad range of subjects. She attended college at Rochester Institute of Technology taking classes in both professional photography and photographic processing and finishing. After graduating with honors, she went on to manage a chain of photo labs and subsequently served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force. Now a retired veteran, Dawn is pursuing her first love – photography.
Whether taking photographs in town, at Florida wetlands, or while traveling to places like Alaska and Cuba, she strives to capture the beauty and moments that enrich our lives. From nature photography and classic Black and White, to modern High Dynamic Range photography, her image incorporates the foundation set by Rochester Institute of Technology, decades of experience, travel, and study of diverse art media and styles. Dawn has received numerous local, state, and national awards for her photography. In addition to being active in the Brevard Cultural Alliance Art in Public Places program, she shows in juried and solo gallery exhibitions across the U.S. and her work resides in several private collections.
