Biography

Sharon Dixon is now pursuing her lifelong dream of creating art on her own terms. She has a degree in Commercial Art and has spent the last 18 years as the owner operator of Architectural Foam and Art, Inc., designing and fabricating architectural foam products. Sharon captured the market by offering clients custom design and production services. She fabricated hand carved custom relief medallions and other architectural details as well as 3d sculptures utilizing CNC (computer numerically controlled) machinery.

She has always enjoyed creative challenges and over the years has indulged in painting, clay sculpture and drawing. Prior to starting Architectural FOAM & Art she had a 20-year professional career in the gift industry as a manufacturer’s representative selling and facilitating the design and creation of custom gift items for clients such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Kennedy Space Center.

Her goal is to convey emotion through the use of movement, creating positive and negative spaces that flow and have rhythm, always searching for contrast while trying to achieve harmony and balance. She is a member of The Florida Society of Goldsmiths and has participated in several workshops taught by experts in the field of metal forming, and enameling. Just beginning to explore the depths of her imagination she is now forging her new frontier experimenting and creating interesting and unique pieces of art jewelry and sculptures.
