BEETHOVEN – Leonore Overture No. 3 ▪ TCHAIKOVSKY – Violin Concerto ▪ SHOSTAKOVICH – Symphony No. 1
This concert will begin with the third of four overtures Beethoven wrote for his only opera, Leonore (title later changed to Fidelio). Paul Huang will perform Tchaikovsky’s only violin concerto, once considered “unplayable,” and we’ll hear the work that made young Dmitri Shostakovich famous almost overnight.
