SUMMARY:Still Standing: A Tribute to Elton John
DESCRIPTION:\nThe music and magic of Elton John are set to light up Florida’s Space Coast in a dazzling tribute concert of the Rocket Man’s greatest hits. Fans of the global superstar have only to follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Moose Lodge in Merritt Island on Saturday, April 18th for Still Standing: A Tribute to Elton John. Allengang Entertainment will present the 7:00 PM tribute show at the Merritt Island Moose Lodge, 3150 N. Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island, 32953. The high-energy show by tribute artist Ben Frey is described as “a vibrant homage to the flair and showmanship of one of the most iconic artists in music history.” The five-member national touring group of Still Standing: A Tribute to Elton John will perform mega hits that include “Bennie and the Jets,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Daniel,” “I’m Still Standing” and many more. The audience for Still Standing: A Tribute to Elton John can expect the tribute look-alike to come dressed in the glittering and sequined costume style made famous by the British singer, songwriter and pianist. Elton John is one of the most influential and commercially successful artists in pop and rock history, known for his flamboyant stage presence, powerful piano-driven sound, and enduring songwriting partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin. Rising to fame in the early 1970s, he blended rock, pop, glam, and ballad styles into a string of indelible hits such as “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “Your Song,” while albums like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road cemented his status as a music icon. “Candle in the Wind 1997,” a tribute to Princess Diana, is the biggest-selling physical single of all time, with over 33 million copies sold. Tickets for Still Standing are $35 and $45, available through www.ShowTickets.live ( http://www.showtickets.live/ ). Seating for the performance is at round tables of eight persons. Doors open at 5:30 PM and for those who come hungry, popular pub fare and beverages are available for purchase at the full liquor bar. For more information about the show, call 407-252-3536. \n
