The chorus will be joined by members of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and guest soloists Amy Cofield, Mary Anne Kruger, Eliza Healy, John Grau, and Jared Looper. Tickets are $34 for general admission and $29 for seniors (over 65) and active military. Tickets are available at the King Center website or at the box office on the evening of the concert.\n\n\n\nJohann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) composed his Magnificat in 1723 during his first year as cantor at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. The work is a setting of Mary’s song of praise from the Gospel of Luke, sung by Mary upon learning she would be the mother of Jesus. George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) wrote Dixit Dominus in 1707 at age 22 during his stay in Italy. The work sets Psalm 110, a text celebrating God’s power and victory. Together, these works represent the excellence of two of the Baroque’s greatest composers.\n\n\n\n\n URL:https://www.artsbrevard.org/events/christmas-concert ORGANIZER;CN=King Center for the Performing Arts:MAILTO: CATEGORIES:Community Events,Music LOCATION:3865 N.
