SUMMARY:Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Group Tours
DESCRIPTION:The Cape Canaveral Space Force Station allows us to offer free group tours for community, civic and youth groups that provide their own transportation.  We offer these tours Tuesdays through Saturdays in the mornings. These tours require a minimum of 10 participants and must be requested at least three weeks in advance. All members of the group must provide identification to the Space Force at least 10 days prior to the tour, using our secure link.  Information required includes driver’s license number and social security number for ages 18 and up and name and date of birth for minors.\nYou will be escorted in your group’s private vehicles on to the Space Force Station and to the lighthouse and back, starting at the Sands Space History Center.\nYou will first go to the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, a long-standing icon of the area. Next to the lighthouse is a replica of the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage that originally stood in that location. It now houses a museum and gift shop.  Located next to the lighthouse is Hangar C, built in 1953, and the oldest structure of its type on the Cape.  Inside, you will walk among restored launch systems and see the evolution of America’s early rocket and space programs.\nTo do this Lighthouse and Hangar C tour will take you 1.45 hours.\nA short drive from the lighthouse is an optional, unique opportunity to visit the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum and Launch Complex 26, an original building of the early spaceflight missions. As you exit this venue you will take a ride through the Rocket Garden that is behind the museum. Also located at this venue is a picnic area should you care to bring lunch with you. No food is available for purchase on Station.\nThis optional venue will take an additional 45 minutes, without lunch.  \nWhen the tour is complete, you will be escorted off the Station.  If you choose, you may visit the Sands Space History Center after this tour ends.\nWe are a non-profit working with the Space Force; therefore, we do not charge for our tours. However, you can help support the Lighthouse Foundation by donations, memberships, gift shop purchases and brick purchases.\nIf you have a group of 10 or more that would like to tour the lighthouse, please complete the Group Tour Request at least 3 weeks prior to your desired tour date.  You will be limited to 25 vehicles but can include as many people as you can fit in those vehicles.\nPlease complete your tour request as soon as possible since dates fill up fast.\n
