SUMMARY:Beginning Drawing Class with Dave Jones
DESCRIPTION:The Studios of Cocoa Beach is offering a four session class in Beginning Drawing on Thursdays, from 6 to 8 pm, beginning November 9. 2023.  Drawing is an essential skill for  for every visual artist, regardless of medium, and this class covers it all\nInstructor Dave Jones reminds us that “The foundation of every good painting, is a good drawing.” By learning to draw what you see in real life, your eyes get trained and you learn many of the distinctions critical in art, such as value (light and dark), seeing  and contours, composition, and how light behaves on objects. This course is highly structured and is for absolute beginners, as well as those wishing to brush up on their skills.\nDave has taught drawing, painting and color theory for young and old, both in his studio and in public venues. He’s taught drawing and painting to at risk youth in the Mississippi Delta and taught public school teachers how to best teach art to their students .\nThe class meets November 9, 16, 30 and December 7. at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach.  Fee for the for sessions is $120 which includes all tools and materials.  Register at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org.  For information on the class call Dave at 229-234-1610 or email dj@davejonesart.com .\nGallery hours are Mondays 9 am to to 2pm. Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm. Sundays 1to 6 pm.
