Dennis Handa’s background and life’s work began in the music business, both as a performer and with his involvement in the wholesale-commercial end of the music world. In the late 60‚s in Portland, Oregon he owned a retail music store. During that time, Handa furnished stage and sound gear for the major musical tours that came through Oregon. These musical tours included many famous individuals and artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, The Who, Vanilla Fudge and Deep Purple, just to name a few. His musical performances, utilizing both the guitar and the drums, were often spent with a very respected Jazz guitarist named Buddy Fite. Handa has many stories and fond memories of having the privilege of making music with a talent like Buddy.

In the 70’s, after selling his music business, he went to work for CBS Musical Instruments (Fender Guitars) and became head of Marketing and Artist Relations. Handa utilized his years of experience in the music world to create unique advertising campaigns for such well known magazines as Rolling Stones, Guitar Player and International Musician. During his years with CBS he traveled worldwide and always took a camera along. This was the start of his love affair with photography.

Utilizing advanced technology with digital cameras and state of the art computer and printing equipment, Handa creates unforgettable paintings. He uses the finest archival paper, acid-free material and ultra-chrome ink to create lasting impressions of his unique photographs. Handa specializes in the art of capturing captivating landscapes and birds.

Handa now resides in Melbourne, Florida and pursues photography full-time. He has been a featured photographer for South West Graphics Magazine in Phoenix, Arizona and has been a contributing field photographer for Nature Photographer. Handa is also a member of the North American Nature Photographer Association (NANPA).
