This collection of artwork created by Michael Bryan is just a sampling. Bryan will carve a Tiki before your eyes which is great for party entertainment. If there is an ailing Sable Palm on your property, Bryan “The Tiki Doctor” will make a house call.Bryan recently completed a Totem which was commissioned by Evening Star an American Indian. This sculpture was quite different from the whimsical carvings of the Tiki’s. This work included a horse head, Wolf, and actual portrait of Evening Star carved into this massive piece of oak.Bryan was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and immigrated to the United States in 1972. He attend the University of Hartford Conn. where he studied electronics and remained in the profession for twelve years before deciding to pursue a long held dream of becoming a professional artist.Bryan has studied with many artists over the years including wood carvers Ike Tucker and William Carney, internationally known stone sculptor Sara Aldouby, and portraitist Daniel Green. Due to his diverse training he has become an artist known for his many talents such as caricaturist, muralist, and sculptor.He was affiliated with the Connecticut State Arts Commission, the Fairfield County Arts Association, the Connecticut Classic Arts Group and was a board member of the Arts Council of Greater Bridgeport. Bryan currently resides in Palm Bay, Florida.Since moving to Florida Bryan has become very involved in the arts community. He has participated in the Youth Arts Education programs and the artist residency program through Brevard Cultural Alliance where he has a positive impact on the lives of Brevard’s area youth.
