Not only are her paintings a direct reflection of the things she is passionate about they are also her memories. He is an avid gardener and wildlife enthusiast. She visits sanctuaries rookeries, and zoos to take reference photos. Once she has chosen her subject she will research it until she thoroughly understands it and it's habitat. Knudsen believes there is very a strong connection between people, plants, and animals, and through her art she wants to share the beauty of the world that surrounds us.

Knudsen is a member of the National Wildlife Federation with a recorded backyard habitat. She is also a member of the Brevard Zoo and Thunderhawk Big Cat Rescue.
