I feel like Grandma Moses...a late bloomer!  Over the years I've stayed busy working, raising children, spending time with grandchildren and pursuing different creative interests.  After working in stained glass and quilts-mostly as a self-taught artist-I finally enrolled in a painting class and fell in love with watercolor.  Watercolor painting is my passion!  I paint almost daily in my home studio and join 8 other women (my Painting Partners) on Thursdays at my art teacher's studio. 

I take advantage of workshops presented by well-known watercolor artists, such as Janet Rogers, Ann Abgott and others.  I belong to several art associations in Florida including the Florida Watercolor Society, the Brevard Cultural Alliance, the Strawbridge Art League and the Brevard Watercolor Society of which I am Secretary.  Although I've only been painting for about 3 years, I was thrilled to be recognized by "The Artist's  Magazine" student competition, winning 3rd place in Still Life for "Lori's Pears."  My painting and a short bio were featured in the January 09 issue of the magazine.

When I'm not painting, I'm  often traveling  with my husband, which gives me new ideas for future paintings.  I hope, like Grandma Moses, to be painting long into my winter years....although I have a way to go!!!
