Art Specialty: Visual Art, Oil, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Sculptor, Photography

Art has always been an important part of life ever since I can remember. Yet, it was only until 6 years ago that I decided to find an outlet to express myself. Enough of just being and observer and admirer. I wanted to also create art.

Previously I had picked up drawing and had done some sculpture. I enjoyed it but both mediums never really motivated me. Then in 2002 I found photography. I enjoyed the medium. I took a course through the New York Institute of Photography and built a small reputation in Tampa.

As much as I enjoyed photography I found it limiting. I was coming up with concepts that I could not translate well into photographs. I knew at some point I would need to start to paint. It's the only way I could bring my more abstract concepts to life.

In 2008 I was privileged to walk into Frits Van Eeden's studio. Just talking to Frits is inspiring. I am even more grateful for the guidance he has given me since. I have attended a couple of his classes. Even at this early stage I am very excited about the few projects I have completed.

The March, Flowers #1, and Egypt and Rome are my inspirations but Frits has guided and made a few touch-ups. It's amazing how he can add a few lines and make the entire composition come to life.

I look forward to continuing my study and hope to share additional work that is 100% mine.
