When eight Brevard painters began meeting weekly to further their interests and abilities in the world related to art, a synergy was born that took on a life of its own. Like undiscovered treasure waiting to be polished, Pieces of Eight became an identity that drew upon the personalities and collective talents of eight singularly creative individuals. Staying true to its original 2006 mission of continuing education, Pieces of Eight has held private gallery showings, public exhibitions and staged benefits for community organizations. Eager to expand their arts knowledge and execution skills, the members are likewise dedicated to sharing that love with the community. Works in oil, watercolor, pastel, photography and sculpture are all professionally shown by members Jini James, Suzanne Peiffer, Carol Schiff, Donna Vines, Mary Warnick, Denette Schweikert, Carmen Beecher and Cindy Michaud.
