The Brevard Legacy Project exists to bring awareness and full inclusion of Brevard County's Historical Black institutions. Its purpose is to highlight the history, its students, their accomplishments and their contributions in higher education during the era of segregation. Also featured are success stories of alumni from these schools since the integration of the United States Public School System.It is a project formed to create cooperative partnership between Brevard Community College and the alumni of these Black institutions. 


It works to preserve history, appreciate educational values and   restore and document important historical perspectives of Black students of Brevard County and the state of Florida.  Those historical institutions during segregation are as follows:  Titusville Negro School, Cocoa Elementary,Melbourne Vocational, Gibson High School,Cocoa Jr. High,Stone High School, Monroe High School and Carver Junior College.
