Description

Eau Gallie arts District (EGAD) Main Street is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting the arts and economic revitalization of the historic Eau Gallie area of Melbourne. EGAD is a Florida Main Street Community. The district includes the Foosaner Art Museum and Museum of Florida Institute of Technology, administrative offices of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, historic Rossetter House Museum and Gardens, Eau Gallie public library, Eau Gallie Civic Center, two public parks, the Eau Gallie Rotary Club band shell and newly rebuilt fishing pier and boat dock.

The Eau Gallie Arts District is currently undergoing a renaissance of restoration and development. More and more businesses are joining the art studios, galleries, shops, churches, restaurants and professional offices already located here. The Eau Gallie Arts District contains art studios and galleries, an art supply store, a bed and breakfast, shops boutiques, churches, restaurants and professional offices and services. The City of Melbourne has re-zoned a residential area within EGAD, referred to as the Art Overlay zone, so that artists may establish studios within their homes, establishing an enclave for working artists. EGAD is proud to be a Member of Main Street Florida.

EGAD/Main Street Mission • Promote the historic preservation and use of historic Eau Gallie downtown/residential area. • Take remedial actions to eliminate the physical, economic and social deterioration of the historic Eau Gallie downtown/residential area. • Promote interest in the preservation, history, culture, architecture and public use of the Eau Gallie area. • Hold meetings, seminars and other activities for the instruction of the public about building rehabilitation and design, economic restructuring and retail management that foster the preservation and use of the historic Eau Gallie Area
