Description
Surfside Players is Brevard County's only beachside community theatre, dedicated to the performing arts through productions, presentations, education and outreach. We have been producing plays every year since 1959, and have a beautiful 270-seat theatre in the middle of the residential areas of Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Our Mainstage season (Sept-June) is six shows; two musicals, three plays and a production from our Original Fractured Series. During the summer we offer addition shows; Our Annual Ropp Playwright award, named for a beloved community actor/director, Brevard County authors submit original work to us in March, in the hope to have the World Premiere of their winning show on our stage in July. We end our summers with an Original Murder Mystery Audience Participation show full of mayhem, trivia and prizes! New in 2022, we are very excited to have a shadow-cast of Rocky Horror Picture show back on our stage featuring the Orlando’s own Rich Weirdoes.
We also offer classes for children and adults. In the fall, spring and summer, our Youth Players produce a play or musical with children in grades 2-8. Our Improv troupe, the Fearless Improv Brigade, offer numerous classes and performances throughout the year as well.
