Hans Pierre Lafleur is a Haitian artist and a computer/network specialist. He was raised in Petion Ville, Haiti, and he holds a bachelor degree in business. Inspired by a long time artist friend Carline Emmanuel, Hans became interested in art at the age of 11. At 13, he created a ten-page comic book.
A career change brought him to Florida; in 1990 he became a diplomat for the Haitian Consulate of Miami. After he left the consulate, he decided to make Florida his new home. In 1992 he moved with his family to West Palm Beach , Florida. Now he resides in Palm Bay, Florida since 2003.
Hans Pierre paints to recapture images from his past. Every painting has a story to tell. When he paints, he feels that he is making a trip back home. He has organized several Haitian art events in Florida, in the city of Lake Park, West Palm Beach, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and Sarasota. His medium is acrylics on canvas and on board. His interest is in folk art. So his work has a serious focus on traditional Haitian folk art, which is an important part of his heritage.
