Description

Laura Kucharyson has always had a passion for God’s creative world around her and portraying that world on canvas. Having spent most of her years hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains and enjoying the golden aspens in the autumn and the snowy wonderlands of the Colorado winters, Laura has continued to capture these images in many of the oil paintings in her collection. In 2006, her family moved to Florida, encouraged by several family members who have lived in the Melbourne area for several years. The beauty of the ocean waves and Florida wild life has caused a new excitement in her work. She simply cannot get enough of God’s ocean landscape.

At the young age of 12, Laura was introduced to oil painting by 2 classmates who took lessons from an accomplished Colorado artist, Evelyn Adams. Laura continued working with Evelyn until her high school graduation, overwhelmed by her teacher’s ability to capture the colorful and majestic Colorado landscape. Laura never stopped painting. Even after 22 years as a music teacher in Colorado and Florida, she continued painting God’s world on canvas.

In the summer of 2012, Laura was encouraged by her husband and family to change directions, retire from teaching, and pursue her passion for art. She was humbled by the talent discovered at the Art Gallery of Viera, where she began her new adventure, entering one of her paintings titled Aspen Grove, in the Brush To Success show. She also began taking lessons at the gallery, under the instruction of Robert LeBron, a world-renown knife painter. With Robert’s direction and the encouragement received from the new friendships made at the Art Gallery of Viera, Laura’s adventure continued. Presently, she has several paintings displayed at the gallery and became a recent member of the Brevard Cultural Alliance, Inc. in Viera, FL. Laura’s desire is to improve as an artist. Two of her favorite quotes are “You are never too old to learn” and “Everything is a potential painting.” She feels blessed beyond words and welcomes the journey that awaits her.
