Description

John Emery, Partner in PRESTON STUDIOS, completed his BA in History from Rollins College in 1974. Graduate level work included two courses in Art History at University of South Florida. John’s father, Carleton Emery, worked for Pan American World Airways at the Space Center, so John often traveled to Europe, absorbing art & architecture by experience. In 1976 John joined his partner, Jerry Preston, to form PRESTON STUDIOS. The studio celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2016 with two major exhibits: one in the top floor gallery of the Capital Building in Tallahassee over the summer, the other at the Foosaner Art Museum Nov-Dec 2016

Works designed by John Emery can be seen in such locations as Palace Ledreborg in Denmark, Castle Foulis in Scotland, a private mansion in Nova Scotia, and an amazing cliff-hanging residence in Tortola, BVI. Collectors included the late George Plimpton (New York), late Allen Neuharth (Founder and USA Today & Florida Today), and the Former CEO of Disney Attractions world-wide – Dick Nunis, among many others. Major public installations include Henegar Center for the Arts, the chapels at Dr Phillips Hospital, University of Central Florida Cancer Center downtown Orlando, Flagler Hospital, and Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, among others. Preston Studios is also a member of the Space Coast HBCA.
