Biography
Lindy attributes the love she has for all things tropical to her Dad who grew up on the beaches of Tampico. The moisture of Florida beckoned Lindy to move from her native home in the Texas Hill Country in 2003, shortly before the year that Florida experienced not one, but 4 hurricanes. "I'm happiest living in the tropics where everyday still feels like I'm on vacation!" Lindy holds a Master's Degree from Kansas State University because it was the dream of her late father, but her career choice has always been to work in the arts which she has accomplished since the age of 14 when her mom enrolled her in her first cake decorating class. Lindy became an award winning Master Cake Designer for a bakery ingredient manufacturer. Lindy’s cake designs can still be found in the display cases of large grocery chain stores in Texas, Louisiana and Mexico.
In college, Lindy enjoyed working with clay so much that she opened a double storefront called Pottery From The Heart where she taught pottery classes to Community Education students for 4 school districts. Lindy's current ambition is working in acrylics on canvas as a studio artist. "I painted when I lived in Texas too, but my soul feels complete when I paint the tropics in the Sunshine State. There is something about living here by the sea, with all the peculiar sea life that compels me to place my happiness into each of my art pieces as they are created directly from my heart."
