Biography

The artist grew up in New Castle, PA located in Western Pennsylvania where she enjoyed the vivid colors of Autumn and all four colorful seasons. She relocated to Florida where she continues to enjoy the warmer tropical weather with its beautiful scenery of the ocean, palm trees, floral, wetlands and wildlife. She had an interest in art since childhood. After attending a local watercolor show about six years ago, she decided she would enroll in a class to give it a try. She was immediately taken by her intuitive roll in feeling 'one with the medium'. Watercolor offer the challenge she had been looking for and needed. She soon enrolled in Brevard Watercolor Society, Inc., a local organization dedicated to the medium. This had become home. It wasn't long before she was taking mini-workshops and workshops by nationally recognized artists offered by the society to expand and grow during her artistic journey.

She has taken classes and workshops by many signature and Nationally recognized Professional Artists such as Chuck McLaughlin, John Salminin, Joel R. Johnson, Stan Miller, Judy Betts, Eric Wiegardt, Jean Grastorf, Janet Rogers, Susanna Spann, Anne Abgotte, Susan Webb-Tregay, Frank LaLumia, Morgan Samuel-Price, Soon Y. Warren and others.

She is also a member of the Florida Watercolor Society and has recently had a painting accepted in this year's Annual Juried Show. This is her 2nd accepted entry into an FWS exhibit and that show will open late August 2012 at the Menello Museum of Art in Orlando, FL. She enjoys painting 'plein air' with local artists friends as she feels this is the way to really learn to 'see the light' and improve all your skills while sitting among and enjoying nature.
