Sandra Qahtani

Biography

I was born in Tennessee but moved down here to Florida when I was one to the chagrin of my grandmother. I have lived here ever since. I grew up in Brevard and went to Cocoa High School and Brevard Community College where I received a AA and AS degree (now Eastern Florida State College). I was previously a contented worker at Kennedy Space Center for the past 29 plus years as a CADD Operator then Designer that was until I got laid off and had to hunt for a job. After looking for many months I came to the realization that I am most likely not going to get a job at KSC and that I was going to have to look for a new vocation.

So I decided to go with a job I had just as much passion in as I did working at KSC. Well I found out that I love my painting even more than working at KSC. (Money’s not that good but I am working on that.) Since my layoff I have been painting and I think evolving in my technique. I took lessons in oils when I was in my early teens and never forgot what I learned. I was always painting or doing some kind of art all my life. But now is the moment of truth I need to make a living at it. So I am selling my paintings by word of mouth and on my Facebook fan page Art Gallery https://www.facebook.com/pages/Qahtani/313303422139538. I hope people enjoy and like my paintings.
