Biography

I am a Midwesterner by birth where I spent the first twenty one years of my life. I decided early on to become an RN and did so after high school. Upon graduation from nurses training I joined the Navy. It was there that I met and married my husband and had the good fortune to visit many parts of the world. While stationed in Spain my son was born. Upon our return to the US I started painting as time permitted while raising my family and working. I have taken few classes but did enjoy the ones that I had the good fortune to attend.

I have recently retired and now have more time to devote to painting and other artistic endeavors. In the past I have painted mostly in oils but recently have changed to acrylics. I am having a great deal of fun exploring their capabilities. I paint often works that have a spiritual/symbolic meaning and find that many people relate to the works. It is rewarding when my work touches others and I feel that it is a worthwhile goal to pursue. Art is all around us and crosses all racial, religious and gender lines. I enjoy putting on canvas my interpretation of the world and the impact it has on my life. It is my hope that the viewer will enjoy some aspect of my work.
