Biography
Since my reintroduction to the world of art after retirement I have primarily been an outdoor painter although much of my development and pleasure as an artist has come through regular figure and portrait studies. Many would now consider me an experienced artist. However, the challenges of art seem endless. I accept that and so much enjoy being in the process of learning and exploration.
In the past, I have had the good fortune to parallel my art and artistic development with fund raising events. Many of these events have been concerned with Land Trust Preservation and support for Art Education. I intend to continue these endeavors as well as continue to enter shows, competitions, and be represented in galleries in Maine and Florida.
Oil painting is my primary medium, but I also work in pastels and watercolor. I maintain membership in the Kennebunk Artist Guild, The Melbourne Art Student Guild, Brevard Watercolor Society, Pastel Painter’s of Maine, and The Vero Beach Art Guild. Pottery and Ceramics also continues to be a regular endeavor and I belong to The Southern Maine Pottery Guild. Richard Winslow
