Description:
Speaking with Thread will feature textiles that present stories through their imagery and symbolism. Objects on display include Persian carpets, imperial Chinese robes and embroidered European samplers, a selection made up from the
center’s permanent collection and pieces from private collectors. The exhibit will be on view through April 24. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

The only textiles center in the state of Florida, the Ruth Funk Center is dedicated to furthering the understanding of cultural and creative achievements in the textile and fine arts and to preserve, maintain, display and interpret an international collection of textiles through public exhibitions and educational programs. Opened in August 2009, the center features 3,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The university is located at 150 W. University Boulevard, Melbourne. The new center is located in the heart of campus, next to Evans Library.
