I am an 81 year old native Floridian having been born in Jacksonville. My husband and I live six months of the year in Hendersonville, NC and six months in Melbourne.
Although I loved art and dabbled in it when I was young, I did not pursue it seriously until about 4 years ago. I have sutdied with Sandy Johnson a well know area artist. I have also attended workshops with Stacy Barter at Crealde in Winter Park, and Gregg Kreutz in Mt. Dora. In N.C. I continue my art education and have taken workshops with William Jameson, Margaret Dyer, Mikki Dillan, Sarah Sneeden and Robin Swaby Milner. Whenever possible I attend life drawing classes with live models.
I paint in oil and pastel and consider myself an amateur, continiously learning style and technique. Currently I am a member of the Strawbridge Art League, Central Brevard Art Association, Daytona Art League, and Mt Dora Center for the Arts in Florida, the ARt League of Henderson County,the Transylvania Art League and the Appalachian Pastel Society in North Carolina. I have recently joined the Brevard Cultural Alliance.
